Aperture in Sierra: Currently depends on your hardware.
Aperture seems to work work on newer machines, crashes on older iMac and MacBook Pro (some El Cap bugs are improved). This suggests a video driver problem on older machines. That’s the kind of bug that is often fixed by a .1 or .2 update. So cautious optimism for Sierra Feb/March 2017, which would mean at least two more years of using Aperture.
How Google’s AI tells us it wants a name…
Trump is not stupid.
Springsteen, my all time favorite celebrity, had a typically eloquent anti-Trump rant.
Including the line: “a price being paid for not addressing the real cost of deindustrialization and globalization”
He called Trump a “moron” though. I don’t agree with Bruce on that (besides, the term, like “retard”, has a cruel heritage).
Trump is not dumb. Neither was GWB (a poor choice but T makes him look almost palatable).
As near as I can tell Trump is fairly smart — but he is not rational. Recent brain research shows two are loosely coupled.
Non-rational, manipulative, narcissistic, authoritarian, vengeful, amoral, ignorant, incurious … But smart enough to be terribly dangerous.
With a worldview frozen in his youth. In 1965 his racism and misogyny would have been mainstream. Even pronto-feminist.
First GWB. Now Trump. Maybe history is sending us a message.
El Capitan bug: radio buttons completed in PDF don’t print as completed.
I think I ran into this many years ago; probably not new to El Capitan. I completed a PDF form in Preview.app by clicking radio buttons. Looked fine in Preview, but it printed with the radio buttons omitted. Other form elements printed correctly.
Android’s curse: weather apps that want to know who I’m phoning.
Apple has few non-bundled iOS apps now.
Concussion, disordered brain healing, and the Alzheimer’s process.
Perhaps the healing course is fundamental.
Siri gets less reliable. Again.
Smartphone pricing 2016
iPhone SE: $400
Motorola Mote E: $100
Amazon Prime Ad-supported BLU: $50
For Facebook & Spotify use there’s not a lot of difference.
Aperture Import: Photos added to iPhone via Photos.app iCloud sync do not appear in import list.
In the iPhone UI they appear as resident in ‘All Photos’, but they don’t appear in Aperture’s Import UI. Very tricky.
El Cap iMessage multi-image transfer to Photos.app bug.
You can select multiple from iMessage, but send is only first selected. From Details view of images can select multiple and send works. Bug really.
This Russia-Trump-GOP stuff would never be accepted in a novel.
Maybe as part of bad Acid trip.

How will you treat educated citizens who vote Trump?
I empathize with the 5th and 4th quintile who vote Trump. They are being conned and will get hurt, but I get their pain.
Not so the 2nd and 1st, the educated elite.
It was shameful to reelect GWB post-torture, but T is far worse. He hides nothing, we know his history and his nature. His stated policies are nonsensical and brutal. He openly advocates war crimes. He exploits racism.
To be educated and vote for Trump is to do evil. It is more than a character flaw. It is not easily forgiven.
Whether he wins or loses, how will you treat the elite who supported him? How will you treat those who did not speak?

iOS 10: “subscribe to an iCalendar (.ics) calendar published on the web, by tapping a link to the calendar”
I don’t think iOS 9 does this. Just tried.
Trumps current worldview was mainstream when he was a teenager.
A time traveler.

Aperture iCloud Photo Sharing may be less stable…
iCloud Photo Sharing will fail completely in next year. I’m still on Aperture & El Capitan through 2017 though.
